At least 12 two-wheelers, 7 bicycles set on fire by unidentified miscreants in Halasuru

BENGALURU: Unidentified miscreants set fire to several two-wheelers parked outside shops in the Halasuru Market during the wee hours on Monday. Around 5-10 bikes were burnt and two shops were also damaged. The exact motive behind the incident and the identities of the perpetrators are still unknown.

According to eyewitnesses, three miscreants were involved in the incident, which took place around 3:30 am near the Kaliyamma Temple in Halasuru. Residents, who were still asleep, were not aware of it. When they woke up in the morning, they found the two-wheelers and bicycles burnt. Later, local residents doused the fire.

The bikes were parked outside the shops when the miscreants set them on fire. The fire also damaged a nearby vegetable shop, causing significant losses to the owner, Alagesh, who has decided to file a complaint with the police.

The affected bike owners, including one who had recently purchased a Pulsar 150cc bike for his son’s birthday, are also planning to approach the police with complaints. The police have visited the scene, gathered information from the bike owners and are investigating the incident.

The incident has caused significant damage, with around 12 two-wheelers, including Honda Livo, Activa, Honda Shine, Honda Dio, TVS Jupiter and seven cycles destroyed in the fire. The vegetable shop, which was around 10 feet away from the bikes, also suffered significant losses, with damages estimated at around Rs 3 lakh.
