BAGALKOT: An assistant sub-inspector of police died after suffering a cardiac arrest while he was at work at the Mahalingapur police station. The deceased was identified as Mahantaiah Mahadevaiahmath (52).
Around 3 pm on Tuesday, the ASI complained of chest pain and died before he could be rushed to a hospital. His colleagues then immediately informed the family.
Mahadevaiahmath hailed from Aheri Jambagi village in Vijayapura district. The family took the mortal remains to his native place for the last rites.
