BENGALURU: Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan seems to have been left out of the BJP’s plans to strengthen the party in the Old Mysuru region where it is hoping to poach leaders from other parties.
Ashwath Narayan, who had been made Deputy CM in his first-ever stint in the cabinet, was conspicious by his absence at a ceremony to induct people into the party, which was chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai himself.
It is said that Ashwath Narayan has not been able to take other leaders into confidence. Except for loud talk, he is unable to strengthen the party, the party bosses feel. He is now desperately making efforts to undertake a tour of the Old Mysuru region.
In the meantime, other Vokkalikga leaders in the party seem to have come together to keep Ashwath Narayan out. Revenue Minister R Ashoka, Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar and Legislative Council member C P Yogeshwar are going full throttle with the BJP’s operation in the Old Mysuru region with the blessings of the CM.
