Sugunendra Theerta swami performed first event Bale muhurta on Friday.

UDUPI: Ahead of the Paryaya event, the ascending pontiff of Puttige mutt, Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji, performed the ‘Bale Muhortha’ on Friday, the first of the four rituals.

Sugunendra Theerta Swamiji planted the banana saplings in the backyard of the Puttige mutt. The leaves will be used on religious occasions during his term.

The Bale muhurta was held with traditional grandeur. Hundreds of devotees participated in the event.

A grand procession was taken out, accompanied by pancha vadya and tableaux. The Swamiji distributed banana saplings to devotees on the occasion. He also launched an initiative of offering banana and banana leaves to wrap prasadam for devotees at the Anna Brahma Kshethra.

Ascending Paryaya peetha seer Sugunendra Teerta swamiji announced his five projects for his paryaya.

After the event, the seer said, “This will be fourth paryaya of mine. The sankalpa for this paryaya is welfare of humanity through worship of Lord Sri Krishna for establishing world peace.”

Sugunendra Swamiji has announced his five future projects such as ‘Koti Geeta Lekhana’, dedicating Parthasarathi golden chariot to Lord Sri Krishna, Krishna Yajna Yaga, Madhwa Vratha, International conference on Bhagavad Gita, daily recital of Bhagavad Gita (parayana), Bhagavad Gita yaga, building Swagatha Gopuram in Kalsanka and construction of guest houses among other plans.
