BENGALURU: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested Deputy SP Kanakalakshmi for the third time based on evidence, and she admitted that she had erred in lawyer Jeeva’s suicide case during the interrogation.
Before committing suicide, Jeeva had written a 13-page death note, which has been found to be mostly true. The investigation has revealed that the contents of the death note match the video recording of the inquiry.
The video recording of the inquiry was conducted as per the High Court’s direction. Deputy SP Kanakalakshmi had also deleted some videos, but they have been retrieved.
The investigation has found that the allegations made by Jeeva in the video recording are true. It has been proved that Jeeva was harassed during the inquiry.
When SIT showed the videos on a TV screen to Kanakalakshmi during questioning, she admitted that she had made a mistake in connection with the lawyer’s case. The witnesses are split between Jeeva and Kanakalakshmi, hence the SIT arrested Kanakalakshmi for the third time after summoning her for inquiry.
