Captain Supreetha C T is the first woman officer to be posted at Siachen.

MYSURU: Indian Army Captain Supreetha C T, who hails from the city, has become the woman officer to be posted at Siachen glacier, the highest battlefield in the world.

Supreetha is a resident of Vallabhbai Nagar in Mysuru and had studied LLB at JSS College in the city. She did her schooling in Hunsur, HD Kote, KR Nagar and Mysuru. She also completed her ‘C’ certificate in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Air Wing. She also represented Karnataka in the All-India Vayu Sainik Camp and participated in the 2016 Republic Day parade in New Delhi.

She is the daughter of police sub-inspector Tirumalesh, who is currently posted at Talakad, and Nirmala, a homemaker. Currently with the Corps of Army Air Defence, Captain Supreetha was commissioned as a lieutenant in 2021 after extensive training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. She has earlier been posted at strategically important locations like Anantnag, Jabalpur and Leh.

Captain Supreetha married Major Jerry Blaize this year and interestingly, they were the first couple to participate in a Republic Day parade together.
