Another Kannadiga from Bengaluru killed in Pahalgam terrorist attack

BENGALURU: Another Kannadiga was killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam area of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, which occurred earlier today. The deceased tourist, Bharat Bhushan, a Bengaluru native, was killed in the terrorist attack. He was on vacation with his wife and child.

Terrorists fired at Bharat Bhushan while he was running by holding his child. They dropped the child and shot him in front of his wife and child. His wife is a doctor. When she went to check on her husband, he was already dead.

Bharat Bhushan had gone to Kashmir on Friday and was supposed to return tomorrow afternoon. He was on vacation with his wife and three-year-old child. He had resigned from his IT job to start his own business.

Bharat Bhushan’s wife is a doctor and they got married eight years ago. They are originally from Bengaluru near Mathikere and reside in Sundar Nagar near Gokula. The family has not informed Bharat Bhushan’s parents about the incident yet. His brother Vinay and brother-in-law have travelled to Jammu.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level security review meeting in the wake of the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam.

Reacting to the incident, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said he had held an emergency meeting with senior state officials and dispatched multiple teams to Jammu and Kashmir to coordinate response efforts. The CM’s response came after it was reported that Tourists from Karnataka had been injured in the attack.
