About eight people hospitalised after consuming contaminated water in Julagudda village in Raichur.

RAICHUR: Close on the heels of instances of water contamination in Devadurga taluk, yet another incident has come to light in the district despite strict warning given by CM Siddaramaiah.

About eight people fell sick after consuming contaminated water at Julagudda village under Narkaladinni gram panchayat in Lingasugur taluk. Two of them are in critical condition while the others are stable and undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Villagers hospitalised after consuming contaminated water.

People in the village have been suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea for the past three days after drinking contaminated water.

Earlier, over 30 people fell sick after drinking polluted water in Rekalamadi in Devadurg taluk and Gorebala in Lingasugur taluk.

After the instructions of the CM Siddaramaiah, the district administration has taken steps to supply clean drinking water and repair the broken RO plants in all the village panchayats and municipalities in the district.

Local resident Shivasharanappa claimed that the authorities did not bother about polluted water.

Shivasharanappa, a villager, said, “We are facing drinking water problems. The water pipeline is broken and none of the authorities are taking responsibility. Water comes from a tubewell and there is no provision to purify the water at home. The Panchayat Development Officer promised that he would get the problem fixed, but nothing has been done so far. They have not even arranged for supply of drinking water”.
