Anger, anxiety in BJP, Congress camps in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: The ruling BJP and the Opposition Congress are both feeling the heat of dissidence in their camps in Bengaluru after both parties announced two lists of candidates.

In Byatarayapura, supporters of former corporator Munindra Kumar set fire to tyres to protest against denial of ticket to him, and also resigned from the party enmasse.

Aspirant for the BJP ticket from Basavanagudi, Katte Satyanarana, also expressed his anger stating that Ravi Subramanya is being given the ticket every time while he is being ignored. He also declared that he will be constesting as an independent candidate and file his nomination on Saturday.

In Jayanagar/Chickpet, former corporator N R Ramesh has expressed his disappointment and indicated that he may switch to some other party.

In the Congress camp too, there is anxiety over being ignored for the ticket. Former mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun filed two sets of nominations papers on Thursday, the first day for filing nomination. The party is yet to announce its candidate for Chickpet constituency.

Another aspirant, KGF Babu, too filed his nomination papers.
