BENGALURU: The Amruthahalli police have busted a major drug peddling network with the arrest of a Nigerian national, and seized 3 kg of drugs worth Rs 3 crore in the international market.

The accused Pepe was peddling MDMA crystals and ganja in Amruthahalli area. Acting on credible information, the police conducted a raid and confiscated the narcotic substances.

Meanwhile, the government has come up with a new strategy to curb drug peddling in the state capital. The new directive is likely to cause headaches for inspectors. If drugs and peddlers are found to be peddled in a particular area, the government plans to hold the inspectors of the concerned police station accountable.

Inspectors will be warned that repeated instances of drug seizures in their jurisdiction will lead to stern action against them.
