Amrit Paul struck deals for Rs 1.35 crore in PSI recruitment case, erased data on mobile phone

BENGALURU: Additional Director General of Police Amrit Paul had struck deals for Rs 1.35 crore in the PSI recruitment case, the CID has learnt after retrieving data from his mobile phone. The CID had got information regarding this from a Deputy SP arrested in the case.

Amrit Paul had formatted his phone before handing it over to the CID. The investigators have now sent the phone for data recovery to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). The CID has also sought 3 days custody of Amrit Paul.

 

During his 10-day custody with the CID earlier, Amrit Paul had not revealed anything and there was no data on his phone. Only after DySP P Shantakumar revealed about the deals, Paul’s phone was sent to the FSL for data extraction. According to Shantakumar, he and Amrit Paul struck deals worth Rs 1.35 crore.
