Ambulance staffer ends life over marital discord in Raichur village

RAICHUR: Upset over marital discord, a 108 ambulance staffer committed suicide by jumping into the Narayanapura right bank canal at Chikka Upperi village in Lingasugur taluk on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Eeranna Bangi (28).

Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who had launched a 14-hour search, managed to fish out the body after getting the gate of the main canal closed by the Irrigation Department. Eeranna was working with the ambulance service in Bengaluru.

Manjunath’s body was found in a decomposed state.

In a separate case, a decomposed body of a man was found at a dilapidated building at Netaji Nagar in Raichur city. The deceased was identified as Manjunath (27), a resident of Gajarajpet.

Manjunath, who worked in a flour mill, had gone missing a week ago and his family members had lodged a missing person’s complaint. He is survived by his wife and two children. The body was sent to RIMS for post-mortem examination. The Netaji Nagar police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
