BENGALURU: An elderly woman survived an attack by robbers by pretending to be dead, in Banashankari 3rd stage, Syndicate Bank Colony, last month. Her presence of mind saved her life.
The accused, including a car driver who had worked for the aged woman for four months, stabbed her in the neck and stole Rs 8 lakh.
The Banashankari police have arrested three accused, including the driver Madiwala @ Mady, Vithal and Ganesh. The driver, who was fired from his job, broke into the house at night posing as a delivery agent and robbed the elderly woman, stabbing her in the neck. When he was leaving, he was caught by some neighbour and handed over to the police.
The elderly woman, Kanakpushpa, is currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital. Her son Rahul is involved in the real estate business. The police are questioning the accused.
