BENGALURU: Close on the heels of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit, BJP national president Jagat Pakash Nadda is scheduled to make a two-day visit to the state on January 5 and 6.
Nadda will be visiting Davanagere, Chitradurga and Tumakuru districts to organise the party cadre for the 2023 Assembly polls and hold strategy meetings.
Meanwhile, there is talk that state BJP vice-president B Y Vijayendra may stay out of the Old Mysuru region and tour the central and northern districts. Earlier, it was discussed in the party forums that Vijayendra may be asked to contest from Varuna constituency, apart from Shikaripura, if Siddaramaiah contests from there. But his absence was stark at the convention organised during Amit Shah’s visit.
However, some party leaders, defending Vijayendra’s absence, argued that the Mandya event was a government programme and not an organisational event.
