KOPPAL: A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Koppal court for murdering a person who had an illicit relationship with his wife.
Parashuram from Kanakagiri taluk, had caught the victim, Duragappa, having an affair with his wife. In 2004, he stabbed Duragappa to death and attempted to kill his wife. A case was registered and Parashuram was taken into custody.
However, he escaped while being taken to court for hearing and went into hiding for 21 years, changing his identity and was living in Bengaluru. The police finally tracked him down five months ago and brought him back to face trial.
The court has now sentenced Parashuram to life imprisonment, bringing closure to the case after 21 years.
