Aero India draws huge crowds on penultimate day, traffic held up for hours

BENGALURU: Lakhs of people are expected to witness the air show at the ongoing Aero India 2025 biennial event, the largest in Asia, on the concluding days on Thursday and Friday. On the first three days, there were business sessions and visitors were allowed only up to the ADVA area.

On Thursday, there were two aerobatic shows from 9.30 am to 12 pm and 2.30 p to 5 pm. The shows will be conducted at the same time on Friday too. Apart from the dazzling display of the Suryakiran aerobatics team, the American F-35, Russia’s Su-57, Tejas LCA, LUH helicopter are performing at the air show. There will also be static displays of bigger aircraft. Apart from witnessing the aerial stunts, visitors to see the display area and the exhibition too.

Parking arrangements were made for the Rs 1,000 ticket holders at the GKVK campus in Jakkur and while those with Rs 2,500 and Rs 5,000 tickets can park outside the venue. Road users around the Yelahanka Air Force Station faced traffic jams on Thursday and a similar situation is expected on Friday too.

On Thursday, traffic jams extended for more than 3-4 km up to Bagalur while heavy traffic was witnessed at Kogilu Cross too. Several vehicles were stranded for more than an hour. Kishore, a resident of J P Nagar who had a Rs 1,000 ADVA pass, chose to return home as the traffic wouldn’t budge.

Similar traffic conditions are expected on Friday too. The city traffic police had earlier directed traffic through other roads in view of the Aero India air show.
