ADGP’s son questioned in Bitcoin scam

BENGALURU: The son of an Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Rishab, was questioned by SIT officials in connection with the Bitcoin scam that took place during 2016–2017.

Srikanth a.k.a Shriki, the alleged mastermind of the scam, had traded 150 Bitcoins worth Rs 5.5 crore through Robin Khandewala of Kolkata. In the meantime, Rishab had purchased a car from Friendly Automotives on Lavelle Road for Rs 57 lakh. Rishab then returned the Porsche car which was kept in JP Nagar.

A cheque for Rs 40 lakhs was received in the name of Rishab during this time. The SIT officials questioned Rishabh about his involvement in Bitcoin trading and has been accused of using illegal money acquired through trade of Bitcoins. The SIT has called Rishab again for inquiry.

Apart from this, SIT has issued a summon to IPS officer Sandeep Patil to record his statements related to the case.
