BENGALURU: A woman celebrity, who is an actress and reality show contestant, was allegedly blackmailed by an unknown person who recorded a private video of her in a bathroom during a cricket tournament at Koramangala Indoor Stadium.
The incident occurred on the second day of the tournament, when the woman went to the washroom. The person, who is suspected to be a man, recorded the video and took photos, which were then sent to the woman’s close friend via an Instagram account with the username ‘swan.3704722’.
The blackmailer demanded money from the woman, threatening to make the video public if she didn’t comply. The woman received several videos and was contacted multiple times via video call, with the blackmailer asking her to pay a certain amount to avoid the video being shared on social media.
The woman has filed a complaint with the cyber crime police, who have registered a case under Sections 377, 351, and 308 of the Indian Penal Code. The police are reviewing the photos and videos sent by the blackmailer and taken up investigation into the case.
