Actor Master Anand defrauded of Rs 18.50 lakh by Bengaluru realtor

BENGALURU: Actor, producer and director Master Anand was allegedly cheated of Rs 18.5 lakh by a realtor in the city while registering a site in his name.

He filed a complaint against the owner of the Multi Leap Ventures at Chandra Layout police station, alleging that realtor defrauded him of Rs 18.50 lakh during the purchase of a site in Ramasandra .

Master Anand bought a 2,000 sqft site through Multi Leap Ventures Company in Ramasandra. The accused allegedly made convinced him that Manika K M would provide a loan for the remaining amount. Master Ananda had given an advance of Rs 18.5 lakh to the company towards purchase of the site costing Rs 70 lakh.

The company had assured him that it would provide land in Ramasandra village of Kommaghatta, Bengaluru. However, he learnt about the company’s fraud between September 2020 and October 2021, he claimed.

The real estate firm had also executed a sale deed in the names of Master Anand and his wife Yashaswini. In the meantime, the company had sold the site to someone else. When he came to know about this and when he did not get any proper response nor the advance money returned, he lodged a complaint about the fraud at the Chandra Layout police station.

An FIR has been registered against the realtor under IPC Sections 120B, 403, 409, 420 and banning of unregulated deposit schemes (BUDS) Act, 2019, and the police have launched an investigation.
