CHITRADURGA, DAVANAGERE: Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep on Wednesday campaigned for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Molakalmuru Assembly constituency, S Thippeswamy, in Chitradurga district and Lokikere Nagaraj in Jagalur Assembly constituency, S V Ramachandrappa in Davanagere North constituency and Ajay Kumar in Davanagere South constituency and Basavaraj Naik for Mayakonda in Davanagere district.
Actor Sudeep arrived by a special helicopter at Molakalmuru and received a grand welcome from the BJP workers and ardent fans. He took part in roadshows for one hour in the constituencies he visited. People cheered for him along on the road as well as from buildings close by while fans showered flower petals on him. The popular actor was also presented with a huge apple garland in Davanagere.
Kiccha Sudeep urged people to support the BJP and vote for the party, while speaking about the work done by the the candidates. Sudeep visited Tyavanige village in support of the BJP candidate from Mayakonda Assembly constituency, Basavaraj Naik.
“I am feeling happy to be taking part in election campaign. This is my first day of campaigning. I was excited to meet fans and the roadshows will continue in this manner. I am coming here after the shooting of movie ‘Hebbuli’, he told the crowd.
Sudeep sought votes on behalf of the BJP and and participated in roadshows in all four constituencies of Davanagere. After the election campaign, he left for the GMIT helipad to reach Jindal airport.
Earlier in the day, speaking to media persons in Bengaluru, Kiccha Sudeep said, “I will start election campaign from Wednesday as per the BJP’s plan. I promised the BJP leaders that I will be there with them till campaigning is over. There is a selfish motive in participating in the roadshows as I can get ti meet my fans. Some leaders have invited me personally. I will help them to the best extent possible”.
To a query on the threat letters, Sudeep said, “I used to get a lot of love letters, but I don’t take them seriously”.
