Actor Darshan, six other accused in Renukaswamy murder case, get regular bail

BENGALURU: The Karnataka High Court on Friday granted conditional bail to seven accused in the brutal murder of Renukaswamy, including actor Darshan and his friend Pavithra Gowda. The bail was granted by a bench headed by Justice Vishwajith Shetty.

The court granted bail to all those who had applied for bail. Actress Pavitra Gowda is the main accused in the Renukaswamy murder case while Darshan, Nagaraj, Lakshman, Anukumar, Jagadish and Pradosh are the other accused. Pavithra Gowda’s mother was present in court during the hearing of the bail plea.

Darshan, arrested on June 11, is currently undergoing treatment at BGS Gleneagles hospital. Special Public Prosecutor Prasannakumar argued for the prosecution while senior advocate C V Nagesh represented Darshan and advocate Tomy Sebastian represented Pavithra.

The police arrested Darshan as he was in constant contact with the murder accused and brought him to Bengaluru. Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga, was murdered on June 8 this year. He was allegedly murdered for posting obscene texts about Pavitra Gowda on social media.
