BENGALURU: The 32nd ACCM court on Thursday granted bail to actor-activist Chetan Kumar aka Chetan ‘Ahmisa’ in a case related to hurting religious sentiments over his post on social media. Judge Latha set the bail for a personal bond of Rs 25,000 and a surety.
The case was registered against him under Sections 505(2) and and 295 (A) of IPC based on a complaint by Bajrang Dal Bengaluru North unit convener Shivakumar.

Chetan was arrested from his house on March 21 by the Seshadripuram police and produced before the court which had remanded him to 14 days in judicial custody. The same day, his lawyer had moved a bail application which was listed for hearing on March 23.
Chetan had posed an alleged objectionable post on Uri Gowda and Nanje Gowda, Hindutva and Babri Masjid, calling them lies. “Hindutva can be defeated by TRUTH — > truth is EQUALITY”, he wrote on Twitter and Facebook.
