BENGALURU: A man hailing from Kalaburagi died, allegedly due to complications from a clinical trials conducted by a private company in Electronics City, for which he had reportedly volunteered. The deceased was identified as Nagesh (33).

Nagesh had registered for the clinical trial through an app and underwent the procedure on December 2. Two days later, he experienced stomach pain and was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru. He was discharged after 10 days of treatment, but died a few days later of a blood clot while at his brother’s house.

Nagesh’s brother alleged that the clinical trial was the cause of his death and has filed a complaint at the Jalahalli police station. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating. The police have also summoned the company officials for questioning. The exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report is received, the police said.

Nagesh’s brother claimed that during the registration process, he was informed about possible side effects, but not about the risk of death. He alleged that the company was responsible for his brother’s death.
