SHIVAMOGGA: Two inscriptions from the Kalyani Chalukya era, dating back to the 11 century, have been found by researchers at Kalmane village in Shikaripura taluk.
The inscriptions from the year 1084 were found next to the Bannikalamma temple in the village and mention about the donation made to Lord Mallikarjun. The inscriptions were found by Dr Shejeshwar and team of the Hampi Archaeological Museum during a study.
The inscription also has images of the Surya, the Sun god, Chandra (moon), a yati performing Linga puja, a pot of water and a cow and its calf.
