KALABURAGI: Upa Lokayukta Justice (retd) B Veerappa on Saturday visited the Kalaburagi central jail and inspected the facilities. The visit of the Upa Lokayukta comes in the wake of illegal activities involving the jail inmates.
The Upa Lokayukta visited each cell and barracks and also checked the quality of food served to the jail inmates. He also advised the inmates to maintain proper behaviour and to also focus on social wellbeing.

On Friday, Justice Veerappa had visited Indiranagar, Vaddarahalli and Fort area in the city and expressed disappointment over the garbage. He expressed dismay over heaps of garbage outside a government school in Vaddarahalli and presence of stray pigs.

At Indiranagar, a herd of pigs were seen near a reverse osmosis water plant. Justice Veerappa expressed his anger at the civic officials for not clearing garbage for 15 days. He also said citizens should help in maintaining cleanliness and rapped the civic officials for not discharging their duties.
