BENGALURU: A 21-year-old student was beaten to death for questioning local youths who were taking photos of his female friends while swimming in Chikkenahalli in Ramanagara taluk.The victim has been identified as Punith.
Following a complaint, the accused Chandru, Nagesh and Murali from Honnapur village have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
Punith and six other friends from Bengaluru had visited a farmhouse for the holidays. When they noticed local youths taking photos of the female students while they were swimming, Punith confronted them. The local youths then attacked them for questioning them.
The youths attacked Punith with a baton and his friends. Punith suffered severe head injuries and was admitted to a private hospital in Kengeri. The incident happened on October 26 and came to light late.
Despite treatment, as a result of a hard strike to the head, Punith was brain was dead. He succumbed to his injuries on October 29. The organs of Punith were donated at a private hospital in Bengaluru today.
