Staff nurse dies suspiciously after falling from second floor of hospital building

CHITRADURGA: A staff nurse died under suspicious circumstances after falling from the second floor of a private hospital in Chitradurga. The deceased has been identified as Indramma (36).

The incident occurred at Basaveshwara Hospital, where Indramma, a resident of Chikkobanahalli in Molakalmuru taluk, had been working as a staff nurse for several years.

According to colleagues, Indramma’s friend had thrown a key from the second floor, which got caught in a live electrical wire. While trying to remove the key with a wooden stick, Indramma lost balance and fell from the building.  She suffered severe head injuries and profuse bleeding and was shifted to Basaveshwara Hospital, where she died en route.

However, the victim’s family members have expressed suspicion over the circumstances surrounding her death and filed a complaint at the Chitradurga Town police station seeking a thorough investigation.The police have registered a case and launched an investigation, with forensic experts and other technicians visiting the spot to gather evidence.

The police are currently questioning hospital staff and others to ascertain the cause of Indramma’s death.
