Markonahalli dam in Kunigal taluk full

Water is being released from two of the siphons.

TUMAKURU: The Markonahalli dam in Kunigal taluk is full owing to the continuous rain. The dam has recorded inflow of 1,527 cusecs continuously over the last three days.

With the inflow increasing, two of the automated siphons have opened to release water. The dam has a storage capacity of 2.4 tmcft of water. The water is being let into the Shimsha river and those living on the river banks have been alerted.

The district has received continous rain over the last three days and the Sun came up only on Friday.
