Youth dies, four injured after car veers off into farmland as driver loses control

SHIVAMOGGA: A youth died and four others were injured after the car in which they were travelling plunged into a farmland and overturned as the driver lost control, in Kumsi on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Chandan, a resident of Nelamangala near Bengaluru.

Four other youths —Nandan from Kodagu, Kodanda from Kolar, Bharath from Hassan and Yogesh from Mandya— were injured in the accident.

The five friends, who worked in Bengaluru, were traveling to Sigandur temple for the weekend. Chandan, who was driving the car, lost control and the car veered off the road into a field near Kerekodi, Kumsi. Chandan succumbed to head injuries while the injured individuals have been hospitalised in McGann Hospital.

The police from Kumsi station visited the site and are investigating the incident.
