BENGALURU: After digitising the khatas of 21 lakh properties in the city, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) now plans to roll out an app wherein property owners can apply for e-khata from their homes.
The BBMP is in the process of digitalising one lakh more khatas and those seeking to apply for new khatas can do so on the app or portal and get their e-khatas without having to do the rounds of BBMP revenue offices. Property owners can also apply for updating or making corrections on the khata through the app or portal.
The Palike staff are already going around mapping the GPS locations of properties in different parts of the city. This has been made mandatory and will serve as an identification of the property. The BBMP is now extending its online services to make it faceless and contactless, Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath pointed out.
The BBMP has already uploaded the draft e-khatas on https://www.bbmpeaasthi.karnataka.gov.in/ and citizens can download the e-khatas online. Property owners will have to furnish Aadhaar e-KYC, GPS location, photograph of the property, registration documents, encumberance certificate from April 1, 2004 and Bescom RR number.
Those who don’t have the documents can approach the assistant revenue offices. Objections can also be filed to issuance of e-khatas within seven days which will be taken by the revenue officers, Tushar Giri Nath added.
