Ganesha idol stolen from pandal in Maddur village on day of immersion

The Ganesha idol immersion was planned for Sunday, but the villagers found it missing in the morning.

MANDYA: Miscreants stole a Ganesha idol which was installed by youths of Sompura village in Maddur taluk, on Saturday night. The villagers had planned a grand procession for immersion of the idol on Sunday and were shocked to find the idol missing.

The youths of the village had set up a pandal and installed a Ganesha idol along with a Shivalinga. They had planned to take out the idol in procession on Sunday for immersion and had even organised food for the entire village.

On Sunday morning, however, they were shocked to find the idol mission. The miscreants had even broken some taps in houses near the pandal.
