CHIKKABALLAPUR: A youth committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree after being scolded by his mother and his brother for returning home late after dancing and singing at a Ganesha festival event.
The incident happened near the Muthuraya Swamy temple on the outskirts of Chikkapyayalagurki village in Chikkaballapura taluk. The deceased has been identified as Girish (21).
The incident occurred after Girish’s brother and mother scolded him for dancing and singing at a Ganesh festival event, and he did not return home even after 11 pm. He was enjoying himself at the festival.
Upset with their words, Girish ended his life near Mutturayaswamy temple, located on the outskirts of the Chikkapyayalagurki village. The villagers found his body on Wednesday morning and informed the police.
The Peresandra police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
