Car driver uses pepper spray on cabbie in road rage incident

BENGALURU:  A car driver used pepper spray on a cabbie, who was driving erratically amid busy traffic, in a road rage inicdent. The incident happened on five days ago on  the ITPL main road near Whitefield.

The argument started when taxi brushed another while overtaking it in heavy traffic. The cab driver passed close to the car behind despite the driver honking, which led to the cab being scratch. The cabbie blocked the car driver’s way, got out furious, and started shouting at him and used abusive language.

He even tried to force the car driver to step out of the vehicle. When he tried to forcefully open the car door through the window, the car driver used pepper spray on to cabbie’s face in what he claimed to be self-defence.

In a fit of rage, the cab driver then used a screwdriver to break the window glass of the other car three to four times, damaged the car’s bonnet, headlights, rear view mirror and windshield. Amid all this, the car driver found space to escape and drove away.

The entire incident was captured on the dashboard camera of the car. The victim Danush’s experience was share on ‘X’ by ‘Citizens Movement, East Bengaluru’ tagging the City Commissioner of Police and Bengaluru City Police.
