KOLAR: A police constable attached to the Kolar Rural police station has been arrested by the Gangavaram police of Andhra Pradesh over his alleged involvement in a plot to murder an aide of a TDP MLA. The arrested constable is Vinayak, a resident of Kolar.
Vinayak is accused of giving a hit job to eliminate the TDP MLA’s aide by making it look like a road accident. However, the MLA’s aide survived the accident and lodged a complaint with the Gangavaram police.
According to the police, the murder plan was hatched by a friend of the MLA’s aide who had sought the police constable’s help. Vinayak had come up with the idea of staging an accident and had even arranged a goods vehicle for it, they said.
Kolar Police Superintendent Nikhil confirmed that the Gangavaram police arrested Vinayak on August 21 and are questioning him.
