HUBBALLI: The Hubballi Suburban police shot at a notorious criminal when he tried to escape after attacking two policemen on Friday morning. The accused is Arun a.k.a Sonu Raju Naik, a resident of Weavers’ Colony.
Arun was wanted in a robbery case reported in Hubballi. When a police team had gone to arrest him from MTS Colony, he attacked two policemen, Tarun and Dheeru Pammar, in a bid to flee. The police then fired at him in the leg.
Arun was later shifted to a hospital. The injured policemen have been admitted at KIMS Hospital. Arun, an autorickshaw driver, is wanted in 12 cases of theft and prostitution.
