BENGALURU: Suspended ADGP Amrit Paul, who has been arrested in the PSI recruitment scandal, has reportedly admitted that there were some lapses, due to which the scandal took place, but insisted that he did not make any illegal monetary gains.
While admitting that he should have been more careful, he claimed that some lower rung officers, whom he trusted, had got undue benefits. “Neither did I ask for money nor did I take money from anyone. The scandal was due to some lapses”, he is believed to have told the CID, which is probing the case.
He also reportedly told the investigators that he is under treatment for depression and high sugar levels. “Don’t ask me more questions. Even I am an officer and I know how to investigate. You have arrested me without any evidence”, he is said to have told the CID officers in a raised voice.
