Tourists flock mist-covered Kanakumbi, Chorla Ghat in Belagavi district

Kanakumbi and Chorla Ghat are seeing a rush of tourists.

BELAGAVI: With heavy rain lashing the Western Ghats, numerous waterfalls have come alive. The mist-covered Kanakumbi village and the Chorla Ghat are drawing hordes of tourists who soak in the beauty of the mountains and valleys.

Dhanush, a visitor from Bengaluru said, “This is the first time we have come here. We ususally get to see fog in Kodagu and places like Kodachadri. We are enjoying here and there’s lot of rain and people are enjoying the view.

One drunk tourist created a scene near the viewpoint on Sunday, dancing in the middle of the road and blocking traffic movement amidst pouring rain. The viewpoint is on the road connecting Belagavi and Goa.

After much persuasion by vehicle users, the drunk tourist made way for vehicles even as he continued to dance in the rain.
