BENGALURU: The investigation into the death of high court lawyer Chaitra Gowda has been transferred to the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police. Chaitra, wife of KAS officer Shivakumar, had committed suicide at their residence in Sanjaynagar on May 11. She was also a badminton player.
With suspicions being raised over the lawyer’s death, City Police Commissioner B Dayananda handed over the investigation to the CCB. The advocates association too had petitioned the DCP-North regarding her death. A death note which she had written weeks earlier, mentioning that she was under depression, had also been found.
The CCB police are now trying to gain access to her mobile phone which is locked. They are also examining CCTV footage of at least 15 days prior to her death. The police are hoping that the post-mortem report will shed more light on the cause of death.
