CHIKKABALLAPUR: A man, who had taken his son to a farm pond to teach him swimming drowned and died in Konappally village of Chintamani taluk. The deceased has been identified as Andadi Babu (45) .
Babu had taken his son Teju to a farm pond on K Narayanaswamy’s land in the same village to teach him swimming. However, Teju was able to reach shore, but his father slipped inside the pond and was unable to get out of it, and drowned in the water.
The son shouted for help when he saw the father drowning in the water, and the neighboring farmers came and tried to rescue Babu, but failed to save him. A case has been registered at Kencharlahalli police station in this regard.
