CHIKKAMAGALUR: A wildfire broke out in the Churchegudda Reserve Forest area on Thursday night.
The reserve forest is rich in flora and fauna. The forest fire burned all night turning hectares of forest area into ashed. Churchegudda has a good number of leopards and sambar deer.
The Forest Department personnel tried to contain the fire that had spread in the forest. Many animals and birds have also died in the raging fire.
