BENGALURU: After the leopard scare that haunted residents on the outskirts of the city over days, villagers of Kallubaalu in Jigani taluk near Bannerghatta are anxious after a sloth bear was spotted in Nandanavana Layout on the night of December 12.

The bear was first spotted near a temple around 7.30 pm and was caught on CCTV cameras and mobile phones and has been repeatedly making an appearance over the last few days.

The bear has been entering the locality frequently.

The Forest Department officials have now camped in the village and are making efforts to capture the bear.

Only a few days ago, a leopard was sighted in Bhootaanahalli on the edge of the Bannerghatta forest. Wild animals are frequently entering human habitations after dark, causing panic among locals.
