CHAMARAJANAGAR: A rare sight of a tiger cooling off by submerging itself in a lake due to the intense heat in Bandipur tiger reserve caught the attention of tourists.
The scene was spotted by tourists during a safari on Wednesday and they captured it on camera, with the video now going viral on social media.
Meanwhile, heavy rain lashed Bandipur for more than an hour on Thursday. The rain has brought life back to the drying forest. Water flowed into the forest lakes and tanks and animals and birds, distressed by the heat, are now joyful. Wildlife soaked in the rain.
In some places, trees were uprooted. The fear of forest fires has eased and Forest officials and staff breathed a sigh of relief.
