Unnatural death report filed after 7 die in Bowring Hospital wall collapse, bodies handed to families

BENGALURU: An unnatural death report (UDR) has been registered at the Commercial Street police station in connection with the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital compound wall collapse in which seven people had died on Wednesday evening.

Seven others who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at Bowring Hospital in the ICU. Doctors will conduct leg surgery on one injured person on Friday. Currently, all the injured are reported to be stable, according to Bowring Hospital doctors.

Horrific visuals of the collapse were captured on mobile. Locals struggled to rescue those trapped after the wall fell. Postmortem examinations of all seven bodies have been completed overnight under police security and handed over to the family members.

Two bodies have been sent to the victims’ hometowns in Kerala. The bodies of Nasimullah have been sent to Assam and Salauddin to Uttar Pradesh. The bodies of three locals have been handed over to their families.
