BENGALURU: “It is becomming increasingly difficult to say what will happen tomorrow amid the AI wave. So, like astrologers, we will only have to predict the future”, said Public TV head H R Ranganath.
Speaking at the 9th edition of Public TV’s Vidhyapeeta-2026 Education Expo, being held at Gayathri Vihar, Palace Grounds, he said, “Earlier, we used to tell children to think about what may happen in the next 10-15 years and choose a good course and a good college to shape their future. But now, because of AI, the responsibility of educational institutions and students has doubled”, he opined.
“Like every year, Vidhyapeeta is being held this year too with more institutions and greater enthusiasm. But I hadn’t imagined that challenges would change this fast year after year. Compared to last year, the challenges students are facing this year are entirely new and unrelated”, he said.
“No one knows where the impact of technology will take us. The children who have come here this year have awareness to do research. Don’t just choose after overthinking everything, or don’t join some college just because someone told you to. See what’s right for you and then choose”, he advised.
“The institutions present at the expo have greater experience and the ability to teach with patience and enthusiasm. So I believe they will all guide you. One day in the future, when we meet, it will make me happy if you say you came to Vidhyapeeta and studied this. Choose a good college, shape your future well,” he wished.
Dr V G Joseph, Chancellor of Garden City University, Dr K C Ramamurthy, chairman of CMR University, Dr Dhananjay, director of REVA University, and Dr D K Mohan, chairman of Cambridge Educational Institution, were present at the event.
