TTD to build Venkateshwara temple at Kolikoppa hills near Belagavi at a cost of Rs 9,000 crore

BELAGAVI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) of Andhra Pradesh has some good news to devotees of Tirupati Sri Venkateshwara from North Karnataka. Henceforth, devotees will get the fortune of Lord Venkatehswara’s darshan in Belagavi itself.

The TTD Board shared important information regarding the construction a temple in Belagavi for devotees from three states — Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa. A grand temple will come up on Kolikoppa Hill in Belagavi taluk and for construction of the temple, the Reddy community will pitch in with 10 per cent of the cost, another 10 per cent from donors and 80 per cent from TTD.

Leaders of the Belagavi Reddy community handed over seven acres of land to TTD in the presence of TTD Board member Naresh Kumar. A temple will be built in Belagavi on the lines of Tirupati at a cost of Rs 9,000 crore. Like Tirupati, there will be continuous annaprasadam facility, accommodation and prasadam arrangements. A grand Venkateshwara temple will be built in Belagavi in the next two years, said S Naresh Kumar, TTD board member.
