KALABURAGI: A devotee was crushed to death under a chariot wheel during the car festival of the Shri Sharanabasaveshwara temple in Hagaragundagi village in Kalaburagi taluk on Tuesday evening. The deceased was identified as Vinod Reddy (40).
Vinod Reddy, a resident of Hagaragundagi village, was pulling the chariot when he slipped and got trapped under the wheel. The wheel passed over his thigh, causing severe injuries and instant death.
A case has been registered at Farhatabad police station. The incident has cast a gloom over the village, and the car festival celebrations have been cancelled.
