BALLARI: Two forest watchers, were killed in a road accident near Venkatapura village in Hosapete taluk of Vijayanagara district. They were on night duty when a goods vehicle hit their motorcycle from behind, causing the accident.
The victims, Krishna (26) from Kamalapur and Hanumantappa (50) from Venkatapura, Krishna (26) from Kamalapur and Hanumantappa (50) from Venkatapura, were working as outsourced watchers for the Forest department.
The police have registered a case and apprehended the driver of the goods vehicle, a Mahindra Bolero pickup, which attempted to flee the scene. Hampi CPI Rajesh Bhatgurki visited the site and reviewed the incident. A case has been filed at Kamalapur police station.
