CHAMARAJANAGAR, BELAGAVI: A deer that strayed from the forest into a village was rescued by villagers from a pack of stray dogs at Kurubarhundi village in Gundlupet taluk.
The deer, which came from the Bandipur forest area, was chased by stray dogs and had become exhausted. Villagers rescued the deer and informed the forest department. Forest staff arrived, treated the deer, and released it back into the forest.
In another incident, a deer ventured from the forest into Nichchanaki village in Kittur taluk of Belagavi district, leaving the residents of thrilled. The deer, which had come to the village in search of water, was spotted by villagers near Kittur.
They informed Forest department officials, who rushed to the spot and rescued the deer. The officials then released it back into the forest. The incident occurred in Kittur police station limits.
