Wild elephants enter Anekal villages at night, residents worried

BENGALURU: Wild elephants are venturing out of the forest and into villages, causing concern among residents. A herd of elephants was spotted in Sonuvara and Choodenahalli villages near Anekal around 9 pm on Tuesday night.

The elephants roamed the streets, frightening the villagers, who immediately informed Forest officials. The Forest department was working to drive the elephants back into the forest.

Residents are worried, as this has become a regular occurrence, with elephants entering villages at night. They criticised the Forest department for not taking adequate measures to prevent elephants from venturing into human habitation.
