BALLARI: The Forest Department officials have successfully captured three bears, including two cubs, in a special operation using an automatic mobile app cage locking system. The bears, a mother and her two cubs, had been roaming around Vidyanagar township of Jindal Industries in Toranagal, near Ballari, for the past 10 months, causing concern among workers, employees and residents.

The Forest Department team, using the innovative technology, managed to capture the bears without any harm and fitted them with radio-collars before releasing them into a Daroji bear sanctuary.

This is the first time such a feat has been achieved in the region, and the department is proud of the successful operation. The use of the automatic mobile app cage locking system has proved to be an effective tool in capturing the bears safely and humanely.
